Default Menlho Effectivness after LoD nerf

Good evening.

Light of delivrance has been subject to a massive nerf this week. Justifications given in this article are really good :
http://www.wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/G..._November_2007

But , contrary to players who will try new builds to adjust to this nerf, Menlho is stuck in GWEN with a build based on Light of delivrance.

He was the best healer henchem ever, he's now, let's stay polite here, useless.

If someone from A.net read this, is there hope for a adjustment on Menlho skill bar ?

Thanks for reading.

I never rally liked Mhenlo with LoD, he would rarely use LoD and just spam orison and Dwayna's kiss instead. He also still uses heal touch on warriors and gets owned i nthe frontline. I don't think this nerf really effects mhenlo since LoD will still have the same effect with his AI.

And in a broader scheme. LoD was only nerfed from a pvp stand-point. LoD is still really good in pve, since it's a cheap efficient party heal, just now it takes one more second to cast, which isn't a huge deal, unless if you're fighting mobs with tons of mesmers.

Have you played EotN? Practically every other group has an interrupt mesmer.

and most rangers and assassin's have interrupts also. charr eles and, I believe, healers also have [skill]leech signet[/skill] to help energy management

It's quite easy for him to be interrupted while casting LoD. Krait mobs have Power Leech, Power Drain, Savage Slash, and Distracting Blow. Wind Riders, which LoD was a great counter to in HM because it got around the infinite Shame chains, is now even easier to be hit by CoF, because it's more likely to be being cast when someone ELSE gets hit with CoF, too, thus hitting LoD. Just about every mob in EoTN has some form of interrupts, be it Mesmer or otherwise.

Also, if you're facing Hyleks, [skill]Migraine[/skill] + [skill]Light of Deliverance[/skill] = fail. I guess Heal Pary could be a decent substitute considering the large energy pool hench monks seem to have. And for the elite, either Healer's Boon or WoH would be win. Heroes dont seem to account for the bonus of HB last I checked, so WoH would be a good option.

Just no Healing Hands plox.

I haven’t noticed a great difference in game play while using Mhenlo as a healer monk (tbh: no difference)

Ewww, no not really. A.Net gave him Vigorous Spirit, which heals you for 17 health every time you attack or cast a spell. (It sucks imo, even if it synergizes well with Dwayna’s Kiss)
Now: A Charr in Hard Mode beats the life out of you in a matter of seconds and this 17 health are going to save you?

Well at least they removed Healing Breeze. That was just stupid in NF. Monster kills you in 2 seconds without protection, Mhenlo casts HB and gets interrupted or a mesmer hits HB with shatter enchantment, you die and Mhenlo wasted 10 energy which could save your life if he would have used some decent skills instead omfg … (Hard Mode)

The AI has always been able to interrupt a skill that takes 1 second to cast. Mhenlo has gotten interrupted when using it plenty of times without your group collapsing, changing it to 2 seconds isn't going to mess you up either. Its ready to go again in 5 seconds. On top of that, Anet removed the conditional aspect of it.

If monsters could interrupt it when it was 1s cast, theres a greater chance they'll interrupt it with a 2s cast.

In my experience, if the AI wants to interrupt a 1-second cast time skill, they will do so without any difficulty whatsoever. They don't usually miss, its a matter of whether their interrupt is charged or not. You're right, they'll technically be able to interrupt it easier at 2 seconds, but ultimately I don't think its going to get interrupted that much more than it already did.
